Recent Expertus Poll Reveals – Learning IT Doesn’t Make the Grade

Mountain View, CA – May 3, 2010 – Expertus, a global provider of services that optimize the business impact of learning, today announced the results of a recent poll conducted among learning leaders. The results found that a whopping 68 percent of learning professionals believe their learners would give their learning technology a grade of C or below.

The poll, which was conducted in March, focused on one-question: What grade would your learners give to your learning technology with which they interact? Among the more than 70 responses, there was a clear inclination toward failing grades, with the following distribution:

  • A – 15%
  • B – 17%
  • C – 37%
  • D – 20%
  • F – 11%

“This poll is very revealing, in that we asked learning leaders to put themselves in the shoes of their learners, and they are seemingly honest about the improvements that need to be made in their learning technology,” said Ramesh Ramani, founder and CEO of Expertus. “Due to the nature of the poll, we didn’t have the opportunity to dig deeply into what was causing the poor grades, but this shows an obvious gap that needs to be filled by technology that improves the learning experience.”
