Series Begins with “Training Efficiency: Optimizing Costs”

Mountain View, CA – February 14, 2008 – Expertus, a global provider of services that optimize the business impact of learning, today announced that it has teamed up with Trainingindustry.com to kick off a series of four surveys in 2008 to gather market data on efficiency in training organizations. The online surveys, to be completed by training executives across the country, will cover cost efficiency, technology efficiency, process efficiency and business efficiency.

The goal of the first survey, “Training Efficiency: Optimizing Costs,” is to gather data on where costs are spent and saved in training organizations and departments. The survey also measures the challenges, pressures and opportunities that training leaders face, and discusses administration, content development, delivery and technology expenses.

“Many training organizations face deep challenges optimizing costs, especially during times of economic slowdown and talk of recession,” said Doug Harward, CEO and President of TrainingIndustry.com. “The results of this survey will be very revealing in how training organizations perform in cost efficiency and where improvements can be made.”

The first survey results and cost efficiency issues will be discussed in-depth during a webinar, “9 Ways to Trim Operational Expenses to Fund Strategic Learning,” hosted by Expertus on March 20, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. ET. For more information and to register, visit https://www.expertus.com/RSVP/pr.

The upcoming surveys include:

Technology Efficiency (May 2008): This survey will gather information about how companies are using learning technologies to increase their training organization’s ROI. The questions will also assess the efficiencies and inefficiencies of training technologies such as Learning Management Systems (LMS), Learning Content Management Systems (LCMS), and course authoring systems.

Business Efficiency (August 2008): This survey will address training measurement, outsourcing, internal marketing, and the critical, yet elusive, quest to align training with strategic company goals.

Process Efficiency (November 2008): This survey will assess training processes and their effect on the cost and “time to deployment” of training. The survey questions will also delve into the differences between centralization and decentralization and how they affect efficiency.

“This survey series drives at the heart of what Expertus excels in delivering to organizations: a fresh way to measure and increase efficiency,” said Mohana Radhakrishnan, founder and vice president of Client Services for Expertus. “We look forward to distributing the results and leading the dialogue about how to increase efficiency in training organizations.”
